Safety check!

Hey Mommas,

We all are moms on the move these days, but we have to take time to stop, smell the roses and more importantly check your baby’s car seat. Is it installed correctly? working properly? placed properly? Anything can happen, especially if you have multiple kids and cargo and you are moving the seat around from time to time. Well, Boca moms, here’s your chance to meet a real live firefighter ;) . The third Wednesday of every month Palm Beach County Fire Rescue-Boca Raton Station #57, 9030 Vista Del Lago in West Boca has certified car seat safety checks. They are from 1:00 to 3:00 and you should call ahead for an appointment. Here is the website with the information as well as other locations in Florida; http://www.safekidsweb.org/events/events.asp?flag=1&state=FL

We can never be too safe with our most precious cargo.

Monkeying Around In Boca

In my ongoing search to find the Best of Baby Boca, I came across Monkey Joe’s, a bounce house activity center with several locations in South Florida. While Baby A is still too young to be jumping on his own, I decided to investigate their claims of toddler rooms with activities for children under 3, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The venue has an arcade, cafe and several bounce houses for older children – but two dedicated bounce houses for children under 3 which were fairly empty. And while Baby A couldn’t take full advantage of the bounce houses, the bright colors and unusual shapes inside each gave him stimulation and points to aim for on his new crawling legs. He loved exploring and making his way around the castles and he was absolutely fascinated by the older children he saw running around. Read more →

Boca Play Station

As a new mom in Boca, finding activities to engage my 7-month-old in can seem challenging. With so many options for older children, I’ve always wondered what’s out there for my little one. Ever since he got the all-clear from his pediatrician to go out and about, I’ve been doing my homework – and the options keep piling up. One of the best-rated is the Boca Play Station, which has options for older and younger children – including a toddler play room that was absolutely perfect for Baby A. Read more →

Splash Adventure At Quiet Waters Park

While Rapids Water Park may be a great destination for older kids, Quiet Waters Park is a great (less costly) alternative to the larger venue. Set in Quiet Waters Park (which also has great spots for picnics and a tow rope for older kids to try their hand at wakeboarding), this aquatic playground features a playground and slides perfect for getting your little one’s energy out, while keeping him or her cool during the summer heat.

Splash Adventure features rides and activities perfect for younger children, and a 12″-deep pool that’s ideal for baby’s first swim. Read more →

Coconut Cove Water Park

Looking for a fun way to beat the heat this summer? You don’t have to head all the way to Orlando to find a water park – look no further than Boca Raton’s own Coconut Cover for a day of splashing, riding and swimming fun for kids of all ages.

For older kids, arriving early is a great way to beat long lines and ensure access to beach chairs and tables. Parents with young children and infants may want to take advantage of discounted afternoon admission (after 3:00 pm) and beat the midday heat. Read more →
