In addition to our expert guest posts, Time Out For Mom features regular contributions by two Boca moms: Julie and Sheila. As Florida transplants from the Northeast, these moms are on a quest to share with fellow Boca moms their newly-found insight on all things mom.
Julie is a Miami native and Philadelphia-area transplant who has spent the last four years reacquainting herself with life in South Florida. About to celebrate her two year wedding anniversary, Julie has a 10 month old son, Baby A, and 16 year old stepdaughter, N. Before motherhood, Julie was an avid traveler with a love of the Caribbean, an amateur food critic and photography enthusiast, and animal lover.
After settling into motherhood in Boca, Julie can be found most days juggling maternal duties for Baby A and her three fur babies (two dogs and a stray-no-more cat) with work as a marketing consultant and event coordinator, or enjoying her hobbies: kid-friendly travel, cooking, gardening, and dining out.

Sheila is a native Boston gal who in the last year has gotten married, moved to South Florida and given birth to a beautiful baby boy Lawson Thomas. Before motherhood and married life Sheila could be found globe trotting and speaking foreign languages around the world on lots of adventures. She remains a die hard Boston sports fan often seen toting her little one around in every Boston onesie available (Pats, Celtics, Bruins and Sox!!!).
Baby Lawson is 6 months old, He enjoys 70s music, especially ABBA, cooking with mom and playing with his two four-legged brothers Cole and Max. Sheila is excited to bring her experience of world culture, food and parenting technique ideas to Time Out for Mom.
