I don’t know about you, but there are those days when this Momma needs her evening cocktail. As a stay at home mom, 6:oo PM, a.k.a “Daddy time” can’t come quick enough, that is when I take my ten minute much needed break, which sometimes includes a cocktail. As a nursing mom, I can only have beer or wine and its a one drink maximum rule for me. Just beer and wine can get very boring. When I want a “cocktail” I go for my “poor mom’s sangria.” Its “poor” because it requires cheap red wine. We family gals gotta pinch pennys and for this recipe cheap is just fine. This tastes just like the real deal and if you add fruit you can get by calling it healthy. Here’s your new favorite drink recipe:
inexpensive red wine
diet orange crush
apples, pears and oranges, diced*
pinch of nutmeg
Fill pint glass with some crushed ice, and half a handful of diced fruit, fill half way with wine, fill the rest with the soda, sprinkle the nutmeg on top. ENJOY! You deserve it!
*really you may use any fruit you have on hand. Apples work really well
